Queen Elizabeth
Celebrating a New Golden Age of Ocean Travel
Relive in modern glamour high society events of the 1930s and 1940s as
you grace ornate rooms whose rich decor recalls the
halcyon days when our first Queen Elizabeth ruled
the waves.
Your entrance into this graceful realm is
dramatic indeed, as you encounter the curved
staircases, geometric patterns and spectacular
artwork of the soaring Grand Lobby. Overlooking its
stately grandeur is the two-tier Library, a calm
haven of warm wood tones bathed in natural reading
light and crowned with a fabulous leaded glass
ceiling.
Opulent materials, luxuriant furnishings and art
deco period flourishes create a stirring impression
elsewhere on board, as you'll discover in the double
height Queens Room. Here, sip afternoon tea beneath
ornate cantilevered balconies and specially
commissioned stained glass panels or waltz across
the intricate wooden dance floor, gloriously
illuminated by the magnificent chandelier.

On Board
Exquisite Settings for Elegant Social
Occasions
Queen Elizabeth's impressive public rooms, adorned with gleaming
marbles, polished woods, delicate mosaics and plush
fabrics, lend a lavish tone to a glamorous whirl of
memorable get-togethers.
Foremost among these is the three-tier Royal
Court Theatre, whose private boxes and regal blue
and gold create a sumptuous stage for dazzling
dramatic performances and illuminating Cunard
Insights talks by renowned guest speakers. An
equally refined air surrounds the designer boutiques
of the Royal Arcade, with its curved staircases,
feature lighting and a strikingly ornate sculpture
arranged majestically over two decks.
Entertainment ranges from lavish high-tech
musical productions to the timeless refinement of
garden parties, Ivor Novello-style evenings around
the piano and Grand Balls at sea.
Or discover more intimate venues like the Yacht
Club, named after the aft lounge on QE2, with 270
degrees views in all directions and dancing until
the small hours. Alternatively relax in comfortable
bars and lounges where conversations flow as easily
as the champagne.
Exciting Activities which are a Breath of
Fresh Air
Queen Elizabeth will simply thrive in sunnier climes, as she encourages
guests to venture out on to her inviting expanse of
open deck to be as energetic or relaxed as they
please. Deck 9 is the centre of her al fresco world,
focused on The Garden Lounge, whose abundant foliage
is bathed in natural light from the stunningly
vaulted curves of a conservatory-style roof,
inspired by the glass houses at Kew Gardens.
And when the warm weather entices you on to the
spacious Games Deck, you'll notice a definite
English country garden ambience, with the gentle
clunk of croquet balls, traditional bowls or paddle
tennis in the welcome shade of its canopy.
Opportunities for relaxation stretch from the
simple pleasures of a 6,000 book library to
state-of-the-art spa treatments, films from the
golden era, or viewing the unique collection linking
Cunard with royalty and British maritime heritage.
All the while, our White Star Service creates the
most welcoming ambience for her privileged guests.
The Garden Lounge
The Garden Lounge, so called after the same lounge
on the original Queen Elizabeth, boasts a beautiful
conservatory roof inspired by the glass houses at
Kew Gardens.
It is the perfect venue for our Cunard Supper
Club combining dinner and dancing under the stars
and also for the Country House Soirees where you can
join fellow guests for champagne at a black tie ball
and relive the glamour of the golden age of ocean
travel.
Ballroom
Cantilevered balconies, ornate frescos and backlit
glass panels rise to the height of two decks in the
magnificent Queens Room. Experience views from many
Royal Palaces through the exquisite artwork that
adorns the walls. Here is the setting for two
timeless Cunard traditions: indulgent afternoon tea
served by white gloved waiters offering a choice of
teas from around the world, and cucumber sandwiches
followed by scones served with lashings of jam and
clotted cream.
Evenings boast another of Cunard's finest
traditions as guests take to the floor to enjoy
elegant ballroom dancing with a mix of beats to
accompany the glittering ball gowns and tuxedoed
guests as they whirl and spin to the resident
orchestra. Captains cocktail parties, themed balls,
the social scene is endless in this most impressive
of ballrooms
